Arbutus menziesii

This monotype print is of an arbutus tree which is a species unique to the Pacific Northwest. It is unusual in being a broad leaf tree that does not drop its leaves in winter. The interesting bark with an outer layer of orange and an inner layer of bright green makes for a very interesting subject to paint.
